Wear Moi, a French brand created by dancers

The story of Wear Moi goes back to 1989 when Elisabeth and Christophe Ridet met at the Ballets de Monte Carlo. It was love at first sight between the two professional dancers! To understand how their paths crossed, we have to go back even further.

Elisabeth began dancing when she was three years old and enrolled at Rosella Hightower's famous ballet school in 1982. In 1986 she joined the troupe of the Ballets de Monte Carlo.

Meanwhile, Christophe began his career with the Ballet Théâtre du Silence in France. In 1985 he moved to the Ballet de Tours under the direction of Jean-Christophe Maillot, then joined the Ballets de Monte Carlo in 1988. That is where he met his future wife, Elisabeth. Little by little, their on-stage chemistry gave rise to a beautiful love story.

1991 was a pivotal year for the beginnings of the brand.  Christophe took part in a choreography workshop and designed his first costumes. He enjoyed creating the costumes more than producing the choreography. He quickly developed a taste for sewing and, on January 20, 1992, bought his first sewing machine during a tour in Asia to make outfits for Elisabeth.

Wear Moi was born the same year when he chose to end his dancing career to devote himself entirely to creating dancewear. The couple decided to travel the world, following the trajectory of Elisabeth's tours and professional engagements. She ended her career as a professional dancer in 1999 to immerse herself fully in the Wear Moi adventure. As former professionals, they have a unique understanding of the specific clothing demands of dancers. They know what it takes to find the perfect degree of comfort and performance. That has always been the strength of Wear Moi, since its first collections.

From ambitious idea to artistic legacy,

Elisabeth and Christophe are stillthe wide-eyed dreamers they were at the beginning of their journey.
