While still a dancer at the BALLETS DE MONTE CARLO, Christophe discovered his creative talents when he started making dancewear for his wife and fellow dancer, Elisabeth MIEGGE. Christophe soon realised that this hobby could be the beginning of a new career, and thus in 1990 he created the brand name WEAR MOI for his rapidly increasing dancewear collection.

In 1992, having moved to Seattle, USA, with Elisabeth, Christophe gave up dancing in order to devote all his time and energy to building up the WEAR MOI brand. During the following 9 years WEAR MOI dancewear became increasingly respected by professional dancers worldwide.

When Elisabeth decided to retire from dancing, it seemed natural that she should join Christophe in the further development of WEAR MOI. In 2001 they seized the opportunity and returned the WEAR MOI operations to their native FRANCE, from where they distribute worldwide to a steadily increasing number of dancewear retailers.

Elisabeth et Christophe Ridet

Elisabeth MIEGGE-RIDET, began dancing at the age of 4 at the STUDIO DARIA in Toulon. From 1982 she studied for 3 years at the prestigious ECOLE DE DANSE ROSELLA HIGHTOWER in Cannes. When she was 16 she joined the JEUNE BALLET DE France and a year later was taken on by LES BALLETS DE MONTE CARLO. In 1992, while touring in the USA, she auditioned with the PACIFIC NORTHWEST BALLET in Seattle. In 1994 she joined the ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET in London and danced most of the classical roles for them, as well as the creations of visiting choreographers. After leaving the ENB for the DEUTSCH OPER in Berlin, she decided to put an end to her career in 1999.

Christophe RIDET, signed his first contract as a professional dancer when he was 17. For the following two years he performed with the modern dance company "BALLET THEATRE DU SILENCE", directed by Brigitte LEFEVRE. He joined Jean Christophe MAILLOT in Tours, France. Three years later, Jean Yves ESQUERRE, the artistic director of LES BALLETS DE MONTE CARLO, offered him a position as a dancer with the company. His first opportunity to choreograph a ballet quickly made him conscious of the fact that creating costumes was what he enjoyed the most. This led him to retire from dancing in 1991 and to start his career as a dancewear designer in Seattle where he and Elisabeth had just settled. In 1994 they moved to London and Christophe created the WEAR MOI brand for his increasing collection of innovative dancewear designs.
